Cold-mix Asphalt as Surface layer
Cold-mix asphalt manufactured with selected aggregates constitutes a definitive surface layer.

Cold-mix asphalt are prepared from 0/10 or 0/14 aggregates, bitumen emulsion and then cold mixed. This type of cold mix leads to the following qualities:

- low impact on the environment,
- ease of use (stability and manageability of several hours),
- products remaining flexible over time and accommodating heterogeneous media.

The performances of the emulsions help to obtain good texture of cold mixes, the characteristics of adhesion are equivalent to those of the hot mixes (medium coarse asphalt type).

Cold-mix asphalt is therefore particularly suitable for:

- pavements located in difficult climatic areas (mountain, ...),
- poorly structured pavements,
- pavements undergoing low to medium traffic (T2 is 300 trucks per day and per direction).

Their implementation is essentially carried out using a finisher
The average thickness is between 3 and 5 cm.
Slurry Surfacing
As a thin surface layer, slurry seals are the intermediate between Chip seals and Cold mix asphalt concrete. The Slurry is used to waterproof the substrates, to provide excellent level of adhesion, to compensate for small deformations, all without rejection of chippings.

The use of modified bitumen emulsion (latex and / or PMB), maintains in time a very good level of adhesion (Microsurfacing)
Its simplicity and speed of implementation minimize the intervention time.

At present, thanks to the latest research a quick re-circulation and significantly reduce inconvenience to users.

It allows maintenance
- rural roads
- urban roads
- airfields.

In addition, it is often applied on the wearing course on heavy reloading and strengthening emulsions.
Surface Dressing
The surface dressing provides impermeability of the substrate and adhesion for the users, essential characteristics for a wearing course.
Applied at low costs and high daily production rate. Called Surface dressing, it consists of a succession of layers of bituminous binders and gravel made in place.

Qualities :
- not sensitive to water
- the climatic conditions, (possibility to use it a large part of the year (one gets rid of the moisture of the chippings).

Each pavement to be treated finds an adequate surface coating formula. for cases of high traffic or difficult conditions, the modification of bitumen emulsions by adding polymers provides a significant improvement in the performance of the coating.

The use of these so-called modified emulsions tends to develop everywhere. Surface Dressing with bitumen emulsion is a fast and economical solution for the renovation of road surfaces.
“Grave-Emulsion” for pavement resurfacing and reinforcement
The grave emulsion is a mix obtained from a mixture of:
- aggregates,
- water,
- Bitumen emulsion
They are dosed and mixed cold. The specificity of this type of mixture leads to the following qualities:

- low impact on the environment,
- ease of use,
- product adapted to current pavements and high deformations.

The grave emulsion is the ideal product for the reprofiling and reinforcement of roads with weak structure or experiencing an increase of traffic. It has been widely used in France for more than 40 years on roads supporting up to 300 trucks per day and per direction.

Thickness of implementation:> or equal to 5 cm.

If the aggregates used allow for it, Grave-Emulsion surfaces can be driven on for several months, possibly even several years, before receiving the final wearing course as a step in the progressive development of the road. The final surfacing course

In Situ Recycling
Recycling with emulsion allows for the reconstitution of an improved quality road structure by reusing the existing road materials.

The work, carried out in situ with the aid of specific milling / mixing equipment, shortens the worksites, the intervention time and limits the inconvenience to the users by a re-circulation under immediate trafic.

Sustainable development:

- energy saving,
- no contribution of external materials (less industrial road traffic)
- no construction waste.

Reprocessing in place has the following technical advantages:

- improvement and homogenization of the structure,
- treatment of cracks and rutting,
- treatment of interface bonding defects,
- improvement of waterproofing,
- Preservation of finished pavement levels.
Routine repairs of low-traffic roads
In the context of user safety and / or maintenance of road quality, bridge repairs are essential.

Sudden and localized degradation of its network by potholes, deformation of support, cracks, trenches etc.

If the impermeability of the pavement is safeguarded, (avoiding a Surface dressing). automatic patching application guarantees a perfect control of the dosages and the quality of the application.

For degradation affecting the wearing course in its thickness (pothole, deformation ...) the geometric recovery of these defects requires the use of bituminous mixes. Due to its storability, its ease of use, its relative insensitivity to climatic conditions and its behavior, bitumen emulsion is the most suitable. Depending on the thickness of the repair it will come in the form of a serious 0/6 to 0/14 emulsion or 0/6 or 0/10 cold mix asphalt

The storable character (from a few days to a few months) responds to curative interventions. Closed packaging (bag, bucket, etc.) allows long-term storage.
