EMULPACK®

Bitumen emulsion plant for high-quality production of simple or modified emulsion accepting of any type of bitumen, with soap solution production in batch. With continuous production outputs up to 40 tph, and up to 15 tph in batch.

Fully configurable  (with or without flux lines/liquid amines/pasty amines/latex/etc.), integrating the adequate technologies for simplifying the operation of the unit, the emulsion plant is in a transferable containerised format and is equipped with the BITUMILL® colloid mill.

BITUMILL®, the heart of EMULPACK® emulsion plants, ensures the quality of emulsions while providing flexibility of adjustment and ease of use in all-electric applications. The fineness of the emulsion, the available shear energy or simply its extremely quiet operation make BITUMILL® the essential equipment for your emulsion production.

It is designed to handle the full range of emulsion types: cationic, anionic, non-ionic. And for applications such as tack coat, prime

coat, surface dressing, slurries, cold-mix asphalt mixes, grave emulsions, waterproofing membranes, cold-mixes, recycling and reprocessing emulsions, etc.

Its rotor-stator air gap can be adjusted by turning a graduated hand wheel. Changing the gap setting allows the user to change the shear rate applied to the fluid and obtain the desired process results. The indicator dial defines the position of adjustment of the gap and ensures the repeatability of the process.

PMB plants

SAE is able to provide a full range of technologies for Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) with in-line or batch grinder, up to 30 t/h

Polymer Mofified Bitumen (PMB) is a mix of bitumen and polymer (elastomer), often SBS, aiming at providing bitumen elastic characteristics.

This special-performance bitumen will mostly be used for roads, landing strips and athletics tracks for instance, to increase their lifespan and decrease maintenance operations.

Key points for high-quality PMB

  • Bitumen The quality of the basic bitumen used for the production of PMB will determine the end-product quality.
  • Polymer The polymer that will be mixed to the bitumen must be perfectly compatible with the latter, for high-quality and high-performance PMB.
  • Grinder High-quality and high-power in-line or batch grinder to ensure a perfect blend between polymer and bitumen.
  • Mixing Long mixing is guaranteed by synchronised shafts for a perfect end-product homogeneity.
