The growing scarcity of resources and the need to reduce the dumping of inert products in landfills have forced us to take account of environmental concerns. Recycling and recovery are key concerns for our society and even more so for the quarrying and road-building sectors. The treatment of soils, RAP, ash and slag form part of this process, in addition to the recovery of quarry waste.

Studies are carried out prior to waste recycling and recovery, of course.

There are several key recovery applications, which include, but are not restricted to, the following examples:

Trench excavations, excavated material from earthworks and quarry waste:
Lime treatment, with or without prior screening and according to the products containing recycled materials, is carried out in order to produce limed materials that can be used in construction sectors (roads, quarries, etc.).
Recycled asphalt pavement (RAP):
With prior analyses—particularly of the composition of the recycled materials (bitumen, etc.)—and possibly after screening to convert the recycled materials into aggregate, RAP can be processed using a cold-mix technique, primarily with a bitumen binder treatment.
Flyash and inert slag:
In granular compositions for construction, and after receiving laboratory approval, materials such as ash and slag can be used to manufacture base materials treated with hydraulic binders.
